PUBG is being turned into a live-action series for Netflix, with Donald Glover set to direct, write, executive produce, and star.
Krafton announced the adaptation on 30th October, adding that Glover’s brother Stephen, his writing partner on Atlanta, will join the project as a writer and executive producer.
The series will also be executive produced by Michael Schaefer for Neon TV, Fam Udeorji for Gilga, and Taeseok Jang and Sujin Lee for LV3H. LV3H is Krafton’s entertainment arm, and it’s involved in both developing and producing the show.
There’s no word yet on a release window, plot, or who else will star.
Glover is a two-time Emmy and Golden Globe winner, best known for Atlanta and Community. Krafton calls PUBG “one of the world’s most enduring gaming franchises”, and says the game, which is credited with popularising the battle royale genre, holds seven Guinness World Records.
Earlier this month, Krafton revealed it was ending development of PUBG: Black Budget, the extraction shooter spin-off announced nearly a year ago. The publisher’s other games include Subnautica and InZoi.
