Edifier WH700NB headphones review – “As expected for the price”

  • Comfortable with lots of room to wiggle
  • Good price range for those on a budget
  • Long battery life

When it comes to headphones, there are hundreds out on the market at vastly different price ranges. DNN noise cancellation is on the lower end of the amount of money you would expect to spend on a pair of headphones, giving a good option for those looking for something comfortable and affordable.

This sort of headset, from the moment I took it out of the box, felt like a good one to bring around with you. If you are someone who prefers noise-cancelling headphones when you are out and about, at this price range, you won’t do much better than the Edifier WH700NB Headphones. The earmuffs themselves swivel, allowing you to make this headset quite compact, so they can fit into a bag and be used on the go. Inside the box, you are just getting the headphones themselves and a USB to USB-C charging cable to keep them charged.

Battery life

With wireless headphones, the charge is normally something I always am quite cautious of, as nobody wants to be caught out and about without a working headset. The Edifier WH700NB Headphones boast 68 hours of battery life, which rings true as long as you have the active noise cancellation disabled on the device. If you do have that enabled, you will get around 45 hours of battery life on a full charge, which is pretty decent.

Noice cancellation

The noise cancellation mode is average, which is exactly what you’d expect at this price range, with the ANC blocking out quite a lot of noise. The built-in microphone also has DNN noise cancellation, so if you take calls using this headset, the quality of your microphone is pretty good, even without having a big physical mic that you can see.

You can connect multiple devices

The Edifier WH700NB Headphones don’t have a bunch of customization settings when it comes to sound nor do they have a bunch of features, but you can connect this headset to two devices at once, in case you want to be on a call and play a video game at the same time. Though I have never found a use to connect to two devices, I am sure people who would do this will use this.

There is also a Game Mode, which can easily be switched on, that allows you to get low-latency sound. The headset goes as low as 0.08ms, which means the sound will very closely match what you are seeing on the screen. There are four preset equaliser modes as well and a dedicated Edifer app that you can use to tune some of the settings. It’s a reliable headset that is exactly what you’d expect.
