- Very good battery life
- Noise cancelling that feels perfect
- Water resistant too
When it comes to earbuds, I miss the days of having something wired in. Everything now needs charging and seems to be small enough to mistakenly drop when putting it in my pocket. Maybe I’m just old and want something that’s not so easy to lose, but at the same time, I am impressed with how fast technology has grown over the years! The Edifier NeoDots is a really fantastic pair of earbuds that do a good job of focusing on the music.
Looks

Edifer NeoDots come in two colour choices: black or white. They also come in a large case, which you need to use to charge them. The buds have a medium-sized covering, but there are a small and a larger pair that you can switch out, along with a charging cable (USB to USB-C, quite short). The earbuds themselves are a bit on the bigger side with a larger base, which might help with noise cancellation as well. Through magnets, they easily snap into the case, which then also closes through magnets, staying together quite well. Both the case and the earbuds feel about the same size and weight as the Apple AirPods Pro.
Battery Life
Along with the included cable, you can charge the case wirelessly as well. Both the case and the earbuds take about an hour and a half to fully charge, with the battery life of the Edifier NeoDots being around 12 to 17 hours, while the case can hold 28 to 39 hours. It’s a lot of battery time and almost makes up for the fact that I do not have a cable with me at all times. A green light on the front of the case indicates if it’s charged or needs charging.
ConneX App
Like most Edifier products, the ConneX App can be used to change various settings on your earbuds. There is a dedicated Game Mode, along with individual volume controls for each ear, the ability to change the song you are listening to, and fully customisable Gains – not that I really understand what any of that does. The Edifier NeoDots do feel like a really big step up, if you like that sort of control.
Thoughts

When it comes to the Edifier NeoDots and me personally – though I am not going to sit around and list all of the different aspects of the earbuds – I was impressed with the sound quality from the start. There was a bunch of plastic wrappers all around the device, which made crinkling sounds when I first put them in until I found the tab and pulled one off.
I feel like the noise cancelling is absolutely fantastic and the music itself is very clear and crisp. My main issue with the earbuds is that they try to be smart in a way that I dislike. When I take off one earbud to listen to someone speak or something, it automatically pauses all of the music. I found this to be really strange – the music automatically started again when I put in the other earbud or after a long moment with one of them out. I am not sure if this is useful to everyone, as I often pull an earbud in and out, especially with the noise cancelling.
I do like that the earbuds are water resistant, so they won’t get damaged from being dropped into a puddle, and they do feel very durable.
