Silent Hill 2 Remake passes 5m copies sold, so Konami’s hosting a big ol’ sale on the PlayStation store

The Silent Hill 2 Remake, created by Bloober Team in partnership with Konami, has just surpassed five million sales worldwide. A big feat, for the once (relatively) niche horror franchise.

Released in late October 2024, the game brought us back into James Sunderland’s wonderful green jacket and decrepit Pontiac Ventura. This largely faithful spin on the survival horror classic did have some parts changed from the original of course, but largely remained faithful to the original narrative.

To celebrate the passing of this impressive milestone, Konami is hosting a spring sale for a variety of Silent Hill titles on the PlayStation store. This means you can get the Silent Hill 2 remake cheap at the moment, as well as the brilliant Silent Hill f if you fancy it.

Silent Hill 2 was recently adapted into a film, courtesy of Return to Silent Hill. Critical and consumer reviews to it were… mixed. Still, the director wants to adapt some more, stating: “plenty of people are thinking I’m doing a pretty good job”. In terms of future games, we know that a Silent Hill 1 remake is in production at Bloober team, though when exactly we’ll see our first glimpse at that game in an official capacity remains largely a mystery.

If you’ve not played the Silent Hill 2 Remake yet, why not read Eurogamer’s review. In it, Vikki Blade wrote: “Against the odds, Bloober Team has delivered a remake that both expands Silent Hill 2 in just the right places, and gives careful attention to what it preserves.”
