Ubisoft co-founder, Claude Guillemot, has died in a plane crash.
According to Ouest France
The report reveals that Guillemot’s family was informed of the accident later that same day, but formal identification “has not yet been possible” after the aircraft crashed near the runway.
A member of La Baule flying club, Guillemot had reportedly been due to attend an aviation event that weekend.
In a statement to the press, Ubisoft said: “[We] learned with great sadness of the death of Claude Guillemot, co-founder of the Group and President of Guillemot Corporation, in an accident.
“Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. No further communication will be made at this stage.”
Claude Guillemot established Ubisoft in 1986 alongside his brothers Christian, Gérard, Michel, and Yves, who currently serves as Ubisoft’s CEO. Claude was chairperson for Guillemot Corporation.
