Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will launch on 12th November, bundled with a new mode called Dandori Academy.

Nintendo confirmed the date during yesterday’s surprise Pikmin Day Direct, which also revealed that a demo will land on the Nintendo eShop on 2nd November. Any progress you make in the demo will transfer to the full game if you buy it.

Nintendo had warned ahead of the broadcast that there would be no new game announcements. Instead, Shigeru Miyamoto introduced Japanese actor Fuka Koshiba as a new ambassador for the series, and Nintendo confirmed that 1st November, today, is now Pikmin Day.

Pikmin 4 originally launched on Switch in July 2023. The Switch 2 Edition is one of two big Nintendo releases this month, alongside The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake on 5th November.

Legendary Nintendo developer Shigeru Miyamoto – who directed classic games such as Super Mario 64 and produced The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – recently argued that the rise of generative AI tools won’t necessarily replace human talent.
