007: First Light is a May release we’ve been playing close attention to for a long time, yet we now won’t get every version at once: the Nintendo Switch 2 version has been delayed.

Following insider Graczdari breaking the news earlier today, the game’s social media accounts have confirmed the delay.

“007 First Light comes to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 27th, 2026, and Nintendo Switch 2 later this summer,” the 007 First Light X account

announced. “We’re excited to see players discovering James Bond’s reimagined origin story, and we are looking forward to bringing you the best game experience possible across all platforms.”

IO Interactive‘s action-adventure game, based on the famous fictional British spy, seemed otherwise in good shape earlier this week in a new 10-minute story-focused developer diary.

Though most people are confident in the developer’s pedigree and experience, having made a name for itself with the Hitman series, 007: First Light faced a major delay in late 2025. Earlier this year, the studio also caused confusion with inconsistent PC system requirements.

IO has had to build on its immersive sim and stealth expertise with cinematic and explosive action sequences for this game. In February, gameplay director Andreas Krogh explained how they’d looked at modern classics like Uncharted and the Batman: Arkham games for inspiration, so you could say 007: First Light has been properly shaken and not just stirred.
