Forza Horizon 5 has reportedly sold more than 5 million copies on PS5.

According to Alinea Analytics analyst Rhys Elliott, that means the four-year-old port has generated an estimated $300 million (£223m) for IP owner Microsoft.

“Xbox’s move to third-party is no mystery, especially given Microsoft’s lofty profitability mandates,” Elliott said.

Earlier this week, we learned Microsoft has announced another Developer Direct, set to take place on the 22nd January. It’ll feature Fable and Beast of Reincarnation, as well as a “deep dive” into Forza Horizon 6, with a focus on gameplay and reveals of new features.

Forza Horizon 6 will be set in Japan, as revealed by Microsoft at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. Not only that, it will be the biggest and “most full” of any map in the series so far.

“This map that we’ve created for Japan, or Horizon’s version of Japan, is big, but also dense,” art director Don Arceta recently said. “There’s always something around the corner for you to discover and see.” What’s more, the map will include Tokyo too – “the biggest city that we’ve done in a Horizon game yet.”
