Compulsion Games’ current Xbox console exclusive, South of Midnight, will be coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 on 31st March.
The game, which is set in a fictionalised American Deep South and makes use of a stop-motion inspired art style, originally released on Xbox consoles in April 2025, but is now confirmed to be releasing on PS5 and Switch 2 at the end of the month.
The Weaver’s Edition, which is coming to both PS5 and Switch 2, includes the base game as well as:
- South of Midnight Artbook
- Original Soundtrack composed by Olivier Deriviere
- The Boo-Hag Comic book by Rob Guillory
- Music Video: Songs & Tales of South of Midnight
- Documentary: Weaving Hazel’s Journey, Director’s Cut
“As Hazel, you will explore the mythos and encounter creatures of Southern folklore in a macabre and fantastical world,” the blurb explains. “When disaster strikes her hometown, Hazel is called to become a Weaver: a magical mender of broken bonds and spirits.
“Imbued with these new abilities, Hazel will confront and subdue dangerous creatures, untangle the webs of her own family’s shared past and – if she’s lucky – find her way to a place that feels like home.”
In Eurogamer’s South of Midnight review, we said that “South of Midnight is gloriously pretty, a game of sumptuous environmental detail and rich attention,” but that it can “get tiresome to play.” It was awarded 3 stars.
